Any problems with undischarged bankrupt renewing passport?

I am currently working overseas and my passport will expire next year. The problem is that my creditors may file for bankruptcy against me before that. My worry is that if it happens before my passport expires, will it be a problem for me to renew it?

If the time comes when they finally file a bankrutpcy petition against me, can I not return to SG to file all the forms? I'm willing to make repayment but may not be able to return as knowing the bureaucacy it will take a long time to process everything before I am allowed to leave SG. It wasn't easy to get a job and I don't want to lose it.

IF you expect this to happen renew your passport NOW. You can renew early you know. You should be able to renew via your local Singapore High Comm.
