Should have tagged the mileage to UA, I'd still have it.

For that reason I also avoid SQ wherever possible, easy due to their being overpriced.
Yes, virtually all my SQ miles have been assigned to UA... and then, through the UA website, I've been able to book SQ flights Houston to Singapore using less miles than if I had booked them on the SQ website... better all the way around.

And since I keep a Chase UA credit card, I accrue miles for purchases, get free bag checks, and my miles never expire.

I was told when I started flying SQ regularly that they were pretty hard with their policies. I don't notice, with my mother and daughter visiting every year from the UK I use the air miles as fast as I can accumulate them!

Looking back over the thread I should also comment that I got bumped up from economy to Business on the flight to Manila last month. First ever free upgrade :-)

I can't fault Singapore Airlines, had nothing but good experiences but I am not paying for the tickets so my praise is with cost excluded.

I hear SG airlines is good, I've not flown with them before.

How is it? Is their business class any good?

Tks
on your dime or your company's? (reimbursed by company or arranged "in-house"?) from which airport(s) to SIN?

my wife particularly likes flying with SQ as she enjoys their service and attentive attendants.

i like SQ but i don't fly with them anymore as i get similar treatment else where for less money (i don't like being fussed over - i like good service and privacy which means being left alone unless i need something).

btw, CX gold is free with amex platinum...

Which country's Amex? In SG? It tends to be market specific, and you can tell which country has the offer by the riots going on in FlyerTalk forums every time a new country has that offer.
