You are going to have to limit your uploads to no more than 650 wide resolution as you are cutting all the text on the right margin due to the photo widths being too wide. (that's why my flip flopped earlier post had something like 8 edits trying to find the right width without causing the frame to clip the text part of the posts.

Your second post you posted some time ago in another thread, but I can't remember where and when. :-(

The first one, is it Selegie Road opposite the Peace Centre?

Here is an old one from Clifford pier looking towards the GPO (Fullerton Building) and bumboats. You can see Shaw Tower on the right (corner of Middle Road & Beach Road).

Right you are re: format, and noted, I'd forgotten about the format limitations/issues.

No I don't recall which was the 'other thread'... ah well, onwards ho I suppose.

You are correct on #1. I've inserted some modern day Google Streetviews. It's staggering how much has changed. That is what is now just along from the Rendezvous Hotel on Selegie, off Orchard.

Wow re: Clifford Pier, nice one!

I expect that was back when it was still working jetties/ferry terminal rather than the freshwater reservoir it is today...

My suggestion for this board is to upload your photos to imgur.com. On the page after the upload, they give you the BB code link. Just below that, they have links for various sizes. Just click "Large Thumbnail" and then use that BB Code link. It works perfectly for this forum.

Yeah, I used it quite often when working in the refugee camps in P. Galang across the straits in the Riau group of Islands (Bintan, Batam & Galang). The following pics were not taken by me but borrowed from the following blog site so the credit goes to wherever the photos/printed images were lifted from! Excellent site for us time travelers! PNGMK will like this as well!

The old Satay Club which was demolished in 1995 to build the Esplanade/Theaters by the Bay (the old area was also called the Esplanade).

This last one I took at the National Day Parade in 1982 or 83. This is taken at the Padang. The Cricket Club is just visible at the left edge of the photo. Shaw Tower is visible in the background. Today you cannot even see Shaw Tower from the Padang!
