About as pointful as the SDU 'Love matters most' campaign?

Isn't there a disconnect between 'common courtesy' and kiasuness? I mean, what's in it for many SGns acting graciously, how do they immediately benefit?

I'd say it's more likely a poor upbringing than a cultural difference.
