I'm guessing the xenophobic, passive-aggressive locals are starting to get on every expats nerves. I mean the animosity is almost palpable and is starting to weigh on everybody like 99% humidity.

I couldn't give a tinkers cuss about a few snidey hacked private comments from Facebook... and am still somewhat riled and unsettled by how that story panned out.

But this guy  really, WTH is he thinking!!! He's got it coming, and ***so far, and on the face of it*** it looks like he invited it upon himself.

- I'm not saying my view of this situation will not change; it might as the story develops. Right now, there is a lot that remains completely unanswered.

But yeah, as SMS suggests, if you're a p'd off expat and want to give the locals something to really get their teeth into, well this would be it...

Conspiracy theory: Of course just because he's caucasian, doesn't mean he's not local. Or being paid to have a public hissy-fit.

It's just a really drunk guy. Most Asians can't hold enough liquor to get drunk enough to start hurling shit around violently, that's all.

You forgot the Little India riots? Or do you mean the oriental part of Asia :) I learned that Filipinos can get very drunk too. Malays dont drink. So that leaves us with just one race :)

Malays don't drink? I learnt something today then.

wd40 .. you gotta make more local friends ...

PS: a local friend quipped sarcastically, that in the future, when ang moh come to Singapore, they may have to sign a disclaimer that they will not have a melt down ..

I know local malays from the Singapore bikers group. Not very close with them but I know them and have been to a few meetups. They dont drink. They smoke though, even though its a non-halal activity. But I am yet to see anyone mention about drinking, even casually.

Dunno what Malays r u talking about. I know plenty, dated at least 3 of Malay women by now.
Most of them drink, smoke, f#ck, and then go pray asking for forgiveness.

As one philosopher said: Praise the God - and do what you want! ;)

Same as other religions, you have a whole range of the worshippers; from the fanatical ones to the debauched ones, with the lot of moderate ones in the between.

mmm... smoking is not non-halal, per my Malay Friends and I am talking of Malays here in SG and not equating them to Muslims back home ..

And about drinking, well, no offense, but quite a few Malay guys I know are very careful and avoid chicken wings from non-halal outlets, while drinking ... and I don't mean to say "ALL MALAYS" .. I meant quite a few I know ..

Let's change the topic back to the Angmoh who had a melt down ..

Yeah I was very specifically implying one specific racial group in Singapore :) The ones who love to 'STOMP' the most.

I find myself over compensating already. Always holding the lift door for everyone else, last in and last out. Holding open shop doors for a stream of people passing through etc etc

I have even gained a new level of patience when using the MRT!
