Hi Guys,
Congratulation to Shrren!

Reading this thread make me thinking to apply it for myself. What do you think of my chance?
-married one SC and have one SC child together.
-EP for 5 years (total), out of Sing to do master 1.5 years, applied SPR when pregnant (approved less than 6 weeks).
-always working since until now.
-50yo in 2022.
Thank you.

Apply after you are PR for 2 years via SC sponsoring. You will be ok.

Congratulations. You now have the record on this board. Somebody did 26 months last months before approval. You have the persistence that this country needs. I remember you. You has a medical degree from India, correct, and were taking the necessary steps to get accredited here. I'm assuming you were successful?
They also got their PR 2 years after moving to Singapore. Another record of sorts for Indians post 2011.

Hi,

I have applied for Singapore Citizenship with my daughter since Apr2021, the status still showing "Pending". I'm wondering should I write in to ICA to check on the status.

Any suggestions?

Too less details. But fyi, there are many who had waited for around 14-18 months for SC outcome.

I think the longest on record on this board is 26 months, but was anecdotal evidence from one of our readers and not the reader themself.

Longest on this board is actually this one:

@Jessielsl2022, sit back and relax. I also applied for mine in April 2021. Tell yourself it’ll probably take another year before they get back to you and that helps put your mind to ease.

Wow, 32 months is pretty crazy. The most I’ve known of was 28 months, family friend of mine.

In a situation like this, you’ll just need to be patient. The decision can come any day.

Hi, I am a Singapore citizen. My husband is a Japanese citizen (Singapore PR) who wishes to apply for Singapore citizenship.

He has been staying in Singapore for 12 years now. We are married for 13 years and have a son (10 years old) who is a Singapore citizen (born in Singapore).

We own a condominium and a car in Singapore.

My husband holds a full time job and his monthly salary is more than SGD11,000.

I am working as a freelance editor and my salary is pretty much negligible (only SGD200-600 a month or even none for many months).

Considering my employment status, am I right to say that I should not be a sponsor for my husband's citizenship application?

Also, what do you think about the chance of success in the citizenship application?

Thank you! :)

As you are an SGC & have an SGC Son and your husband is gainfully employed, I am guessing that in this instance you could probably get him SGC without too much problem even though you are not financially technically able to sponsor, I'm assuming (I hope, anyway) that your name is on the condo as number 1. When applying I would ensure that his employment and salary are listed on the application so that it can be taken under advisement. Normally it will be included in their determining of acceptability. While it was a long, long time ago, it's basically how I got my PR under family ties as my wife was a professional singer here in Singapore and back in the 1970s & '80s most singers were paid off the books. It did take me 2 tries and one appeal which failed but eventually I got it.

Six years is a long time, and coupled with the fact that you are married to an SC with an SC child you should have a very good chance.

Edit: at the time of posting I did not realize the date that this was posted. Still, my take is the same. I am, however, interested to know how this turned out.

Thank you all for your inputs. I'll continue to hope for the best outcome. I'm thinking should I write in or just continue to wait. The wait is really killing us.
