Hello everyone, this is my first post here.
What internet provider would you recommend for home internet
192.168.1.1?
Thank.
Changing the color of the link was reasonably smart but at the same time placing this sort of IP address linking it to a provider attracted the attention you probably didn't want to have. Better luck next time.

It depends on whether you are also signing up the TV services as it is cheaper in a bundle.
If you are going for Starhub TV, go for their bundled package, likewise if you are interested in Singtel MIO TV, sign up with them.
Otherwise, I will go for MyRepublic for home internet as they are usually cheaper.

Would anybody recommend Google mesh wifi?
Yes. Great coverage. I have been using it since 2017. Speed wise, good enough for streaming. But you won’t hit the 1gbs type of speeds with this. Speed test, around 150-200mbs mark.

Hi, interesting points. Does connectivity gets slowed down/fluctuate from time to time? I am seriously contemplating google mesh wifi, then get cabling directly into my PC so I guess that wouldn't be a concern?
2 points (router + extra point) should be a sufficient coverage for an 1000sqft< apartment, yes?

It doesn’t slow down like a wifi repeater/extender.
2 or 3 would depend where your DB box is. For my case, it’s in the kitchen, so I needed 3.
Fwiw, you can always start with 2, and if you need 3, you can buy the loose puck from carousell etc.

Not necessarily. Mesh works when the individual points can talk to each other finding the most optimal route and mitigating physical obstacles in your apartment. Imagine, you have a bomb shelter (very thick walls) between the router and the extra point. There will not be good coverage in such case. Now add the 2nd extra point in the position the router could see it and the 1st extra point can see it too. It will be like routing the connection around the bomb shelter.

Mine is free, came with my starhub tv contract, quite a good deal.

Not really. I have experience with Singtel and Starhub only. Starhub, once I talked to a competent technical support. It was a refreshing experience
But if you mean mesh, it has nothing to do with the Internet providers. I am using ubiquiti unifi equipment and not even using mesh. I don't need it.

I’ve managed to get Starhub internet for less than $20/mo for at least a decade, even now with 100mbps fiber (effectively 30mbps to San Francisco, which is where the majority of servers I’m hitting are located).
I haven’t found the need for any wifi extenders, just one cheap TP Link router gets the job done. I position it near the ceiling and in-line with the hallway to the bedrooms... almost no dead zones, none that matter anyway.
