PR approved within 6 months and not even two years after working in Singapore

Post by eren_jaeger » Mon, 30 Nov 2020 12:17 pm

If you have been following me in this forum and looked at my past threads, you will not believe that this thing could happen to me. As the title says, I have to really praise the lord for being able to be granted PR.

It all happened soon after I first arrived in Singapore, and I lost my jobs not once, but two times. The first job was the last day of my probation, on the third month. And the second job was not even 3 months, it was at the end of the first month. The first company did not honor my contract by not paying me a single cent for asking me to leave, and I had to go through MOM to get my one month salary in lieu back. The second company, asked me to leave without giving me prior notice too, but it was stated in their contract that they were not obliged to pay. Finally, I got my third job within a month, and have since stayed till now.

I have changed my jobs three times in one year after I first arrived in Singapore. After 7 months into my third job, I started applying for PR in May 2020. I submitted the application end of May and my documentation was not even complete! I had 5 jobs in the past and only managed to get two employee testimonials. My birth cert was in Malay language and was not even translated ! However that time it was circuit breaker in Singapore and it was tough for me to get it translated. Nevertheless, I decided to cross finger and submit it. And last week when I just casually checked online, the status changed from PENDING to APPROVED ! Within one and half year I have finally gotten my PR, I no longer need to afraid of any unforeseen changes in my job environment.

The reason I am posting my testimonial here is not to brag or show off. I want to encourage the people here that even though you might have some tough times in the past, and maybe some bad things happened during your stay in Singapore like me. Please do not give up and continue to persevere. Pray to God (if you have a religion), and do your best. Your moment will shine in the end to reward your effort.

Your profile in this post: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=134634&p=822938#p822938 fits what this forum has been been saying. If you are Malaysian and Chinese you have a high chance of approval.

Hello I am a Malaysian Chinese male, just came to SG to work not too long ago. Would love to make new friends here and explore the city together. I studied in US before and knew that house/pool party was quite common, not too sure about SG here. Would love to join any house party if available.

Yes, but the probability is not very high. There are many Malaysian Chinese who have been waiting for their PR approval and reapply but still have not gotten. And they have higher qualifications than me.
And my previous job lost was due to company firing me, not once but twice in Singapore!
