Come on Singapore university students........ research and give us the graphical data...... why are death rates generally low in East Asia and high in USA and Europe? Is obesity the main driver?

Too many factors for any meaningful speculation.martincymru wrote: ↑Wed, 14 Oct 2020 1:27 am"When two sets of data are strongly linked together..."

-population age profile
-quality of health services
-average yearly temperatures
-likely past, unassociated vaccinations (e.g. BCG)
-how the individual countries handle the crisis
etc etc etc

Re: COVID-19; Obesity correlations
It's mostly that in East Asia there's been better control, all these awful restrictions of freedoms that has limited the number of cases. The death rates in most developed countries with decent healthcare are not that different, between 1-2.5% .
Especially in the beginning if there was overflow of patients and not do much knowledge like Italy's case it looks a lot worse but the rest of Europe with the exception of Sweden improving their public pension fund health, it's not that different to east Asian countries with similar age profile.
