Based on your ethnicity, virtually nil.

Hi everyone,

thought of putting our metadata in the mix to calculate our chances.

Main applicant:
Male 42years old
Nationality: Japanese
Ethnicity: japanese
Work: Data feeds sales specialist in fintech firm
Education: university of Tokyo, economics
Duration: 3 years in SG.
Work experience: 12y +
Base salary: 110K
Pass: EP, recently renewed to 3 year from 1 year then before that 2 year
Tax filing: 3 years

Spouse(me)
Female 36y
Nationality: Norwegian
Ethnicity: white
Work: Data analyst lead at consulting firm
Duration: 2 years 10 months in SG
work experience: 7y +
Education: BA economics in UK
Base salary: 96k from 2019, 75k before
Pass: EP 3 year from 2019, before that worked under DP
Tax filing: 3 times, but 1st time very little
Others: volunteer as python coding teacher for Singapore kids from time to time but then I see volunteering does not matter, but I still like doing it.

Donates to cancer patients

One daughter 4y
Japanese national

Husband Applied in Oct 2018 for the whole family, got rejected, husband too naive

Then reapplied again 6 month Oct 2019 later through agent telling him he promised him a spot ( I specifically told him to wait, but husband believed agent) got rejected in August 2020.

I am planning to buy a private property next year to settle then apply again, but believe my husband's eagerness to settle here may have ruined our chances so needed to know.

We love it here much more cause it is easier to raise our child in mixed culture and no one looks at us funny( in Japan they stare, too homogenous lol) so would really like to continue to contribute.

I do plan to buy private property without husband as I benefit from not paying adbs as Norwegian citizen to demonstrate settling in one place.
I myself have studied and worked in 7 countries over a course of 17 years, so perhaps my profile could be considered "flight risk"?

We are in the others section, so I know our chances are slim, but appreciate if you could you help us calculating our chances and would you think that I should be main applicant in the next round after waiting perhaps 2years?

Thank you guys!

Hi everyone,
I am new here. I’d like to ask for your thoughts on our chance of PR application as a married couple.

Husband
— Age: 28
— Nationality: Vietnamese
— Religion: None
— Education: Bachelor degree and PhD of Science in Singapore public uni
— Work: Machine learning engineer for local e-commerce company
— Year of exp: 1 year (change job once)
— Year of stay in SG: 8 years, got 1 year in Germany due to his research in 2018 but still kept his Student Pass during that time
— Salary: 96k
— Pass: EP
— Tax filling: 1 when changed job

Wife(me)
— Age: 28
— Nationality: Vietnamese
— Religion: None
— Education: Bachelor degree of Engineering in Singapore public uni
— Work: Software Engineer for a bank
— Year of exp: 5 years ( change job twice)
— Year of stay in SG: 9 years
— Salary: 96k
— Pass: EP
— Tax filling: 4

We are married for more than 1 year without kid yet.

We are thinking of applying with my husband as main applicant because of his PhD. Or not sure if my longer working experience will be better or not?
Also, my working history with every 2 years of job change, will it be a red flag?

Would love to hear your opinions.
Thanks a lot :)

low chance except for his PHD from local uni, which MAY seem to make it a bit positive.

Thank you for your answer. But his PhD and his current work are not the same fields, should we wait for 1-2 years to apply? He has been working for 1 year now and in the current company for 9 months. I saw somewhere in the forum someone said that a person should work in the same company for at least 12 or 18 months to have a better chance. Is it correct?

You are classified as “Others”
Not impossible, just need a lot more effort.

My Korean friend + family got their approvals after 4-5 tries.

It will get harder this year, surely.

But take note, a recession will lead to scores of people leaving the country. PRs included.

I am of the opinion that in 2-3 years, assuming you are still in this country, it will be easier to obtain during the recovery phase.

Reason: there’s gap of PRs to plug back.

Caveat: Hugely dependent on the political situation. The online mob has a loud voice.
Deafening at times.

Dear Experts,

Please help to assess the below profile,
Main Applicant:
Age:44
Race: Indian
Gender: Male
Religion: Islam
Education: Master
Current field of Work: Engineering in public sector (contract position)
Salary/Annum: 115K
Work Pass: EP
Spouse:
Age:39
Race: Indian
Gender: Female
Religion: Islam
Education: Master
Current field of Work: Tourism Industry (permanent position)
Salary/Annum: 82K
Work Pass: EP
Duration in SG: 5years 2 months
No of tax returns: 4 times (2016 to 2019) for both
Children: 3 in DP, Two studying in mainstream school and one in International School.
Family ties: SIL’s (Wife’s Sisters), two of them Singaporeans and my brother and sister are SPR ( all with family been here for many years). Also, my parents as well as my MIL are in LTVP.
+ Actively engaged as volunteer in community club since 2016 to support and organize the activities.

Applied for 5 (family) 3 times already;
2016 June – Unsuccessful, got response within 4 months
2017 April – Unsuccessful, got response within 8 months
2018 June – Unsuccessful, got response after 1 yr. 4 months in oct 2019

Would applying alone (me as applicant) first followed by family later increase the approval chance?
Appreciate any comments and feedback. Thank you so much.

Would applying alone (me as applicant) first followed by family later increase the approval chance?
No

Based on what you have said, it is going to be tough for your PR application to be approved.

Chaotic situation for the family, relocating back to rural home town will deprive good education that children currently receive from IP secondary and primary school in Singapore.
Can shed more light on pros and cons of the profile, what to improve? Thank You in advance.

Hi All,
I'm going to try my luck for the first time in this forum. Appreciate if you guys can advise me on my chance, applying PR for my family.

Myself:
Vietnamese, 37 years.
Bachelor - NTU, Singapore on MFA scholarship. Mcs in Europe.
Basic salary ~ 11k/month. Bonus: 3-6 months
Job: Manager level, Oil and Gas, Giant Chemical company

Length of stay in Singapore ~20 years (since 2001). Granted PR on March 2006. Paid tax each year.

My wife:
Vietnamese, 36, got a Degree in Vietnam, Mcs in Europe. Have been in Singapore since 2009. Salary around 5.8k/month. EP since 2009. Tax paid each year.
She is a Landscape Designer (Architect)

My son: Vietnamese, born 2011 in Singapore, Student Pass
My daughter: Vietnamese, born 2015 Singapore. LTVP.

I have been applying for PR for at least 5 times for my family and got rejected. I served Grassroot Leader since 2017, did quiet a lot of volunteers and donate quiet a lot for charity.

Thank you in advance. Really applicated.

Yes unless NaeSSean can show he/they are ethnic Chinese Vietnamese.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Low chance. Basically you have already shown ICA/MOM you are a flight risk for a few dollars more.

Your circumstances suggest little to no chance. Your salary is ok, but negatives:
your (and your wife's) ethnic group
wife is not working
