Stay in SG: 2 years 8 months
Salary: ~100k per annum
Education: Bachelor (India)
Occupation: Software Engineer
Sector: Finance (Commodities)
Experience: ~10 years

My spouse's profile:

Ethnicity: Indian
Pass: EP
Age: 32
Stay in SG: 2 years 4 months

Education: Bachelor (India)
Occupation: Software Engineer
Sector: Finance (US Bank)
Experience: ~10 years

I think your chances are quite low. Finacce sector is already overloaded with foreign workers, with similar qualifications.
The same question as has been raised by others in previous posts. How do you contribute to Singapore in a way that others do not?
Lots of people come here with undergraduate degrees in engineering, followed by MBAs, so your qualifications are probably not going be a net positive for you.
Two-three years in Singapore is about standard, so again, not a net positive.

From what I've read from this forum, it seems highly unlikely that waiting a 3rd tax year will help your application.

If I was trying to get PR in your case, I would focus on boosting your salaries over the next couple of years and then trying.

Let us know how what you decide!

Refer to TropicalExpat’s response in #504 above.

Changes required to increase your chances? - convert to Malaysian and change your race to Chinese Image

Hi,

I applied for my PR last Nov 2020 and got a request in April for proof of Chinese descent. After submitting the docs (confirmed received by ICA), havent heard back from them since. I submitted birth certificates of my grandparents (all born in china), and my parents (both born in the Philippines).

I also didnt receive any mail on the delay in processing time that other people mentioned in this thread... Wanted to check if this is this normal waiting time? And if any advise on how my chances are looking?

thank you!

Have you gotten your results already katrin?

Hi!

I'm new here and am considering applying for PR this year.

Profile:
Race: Chinese
Gender: Female
Nationality: Indonesian
Age: 26 Years
Duration in Singapore: 19 years (Arrived in Singapore when I was quite young)
Schooling: Attended local primary & secondary school in Singapore
Tertiary: Got my diploma from local polytechnic and currently doing part-time degree with private university
Occupation: Working in digital advertising industry and currently on spass
Income: 48K p.a.
Tax: 4 x Tax Cycle

Just for a point of reference, I've actually applied for PR twice, once when I just graduated from secondary school and another when I just started working.

Wondering if anyone could advise me in terms of what are the chances if I do apply for the third time?

Appreciate any help and advise, thanks in advance! :)
Just apply, i have friend who has similar background as you. but working in a different industry and lower salary, she got her pr approved recently, she waited for a year.

Hi everyone!
A little concern raised up here regarding my PR application
I applied my PR on 24th Jan 2020 and keep pending till now
Nationality: Malaysian Chinese
Pass: EP
Sector: Marine Shipbuilding
Education: Degree in Chemical Engineering
Role: Engineer
Age: 25
In SG: since 2018 Jul
Salary: 3050 (Mar 2020 increased to 3200)

So my concern stated as below:
-I realized my first tax submission amount was incorrect resulted no tax payment for my first working year but I immediately settled with my 2020 tax on April
-I got increment on March but only informed ICA on Jun and they already forward the document to officer
does this will affect my result? How likely will be rejected? It was pending for so long since Jan 2020

ICA has ways to view your tax from IRAS.
I dont think your salary update will make a major difference on the outcome.
Age, Ethnicity are positives.
Salary looks to be slightly on the lower side, but you may still get it. 50-50 at the moment.

You will get it. In case it is rejected, try to get an increase in your salary and then retry after 1-2 years.

Applied in April 2019 and was asked about parents information in Feb, since then no further response.
Profile: Indian
Age: 36
Family: Wife and son (6 yo)
Wife working
Time in SG: 6+ years

Wondering is someone has been waiting this long and haven't heard any result, good or bad. Understand its delayed due to COVID and might take longer but wanted to get a sense check from the forum
