Duration of wait is no indication whatsoever as to prospects of approval or rejection.

To be honest? Not good. You were rejected 3x during non-critical periods. Now you are in the middle of an epidemic and high unemployment (currently the highest local unemployment in over 10 years. This means more weightage will be given to locals to get them re-employed. This is always a danger point for EP & S pass holders as criteria tightens up. All you can do at the moment take your chances but you also must look at it holistically considering the world economic and pandemic situation. Countries have to take care of their own first. Good Luck. I think you may need it.

Hi, have been a long time unregistered lurker. Please help me rate my chances (which I understand were good prior to the GE) of getting a PR.

Mid 20s, female
Nationality: Malaysian Chinese
Occupation: Medical doctor
Education: Medical school in Australia
Salary: $6k/month
Family: single, no children
Duration of work in Singapore: 6 months
First time application

Have heard a lot from Malaysian medical friends getting their PRs in 1st go applying after 6 months of work but this has been a few years back. Keen to know what the sentiment is like now especially after the GE. Thank you.

You really had to ask??
Even as a silent observer, I had to chip in for this

Objectively

Mid 20s, female [Yes, for being young]
Nationality: Malaysian Chinese [Target candidate and ethnicity]
Occupation: Medical doctor [Can't go wrong with this vocation]
Education: Medical school in Australia [Can't go wrong]
Salary: $6k/month [I mean you're a doctor, sure whatever]
Family: single, no children [Hopefully not forever]
Duration of work in Singapore: 6 months [who cares really]
First time application

In honesty, I think you're a shoo-in to become a citizen.

You may have 20-25% chance due to your nature of work.

Wondering if anyone knows how many PR applications are reviewed annually. Wanted to put the 30K or so PR approvals into perspective. Thank you!

Thanks all for your support on this forum , much appreciated.
Indian
In singapore since 2009, on EP
Working in IT Banking on data analytics And compliance
Salary :140K
Wife not working
1 kid boy 6 years , goes to local school
Applied thrice Earlier, 2013,2014,2016 rejected
Applied in Aug 2019, still pending.
Age :36 years
Married for 8 years , with family in SG all this while
Education: both of us Engineers IT

Is longer wait time good or bad ?
I don't have the benefit of seeing all the anecdotal evidences over the years that some of the long time members here have but your profile is similar to mine so I'll add my opinion.

Your length of stay and kid going to local school should give a good indication of your integration in community. I think in terms of age and pay you are around what seems to be the expectation. Frequent application in past, nationality/race and lack of masters may be cause of concern. Two of those things you can't change now but education/qualification is something you could work upon I guess. Working on improving your pay and skill could help to give you a decent chance in future even if your application is not successful this time around. Best of luck!

I am really glad I found this forum I was feeling like I will have to fish for it all alone. Thanks to the moderators for your dedication.

I want to know my chances of approval and whether if I should be applying for PR at this point or at any point in the future. I first came to SG in Sep 2019 (11 months back)

I was told by paul immigration agency that my chances are very good and I should apply immediately. I don't want to trust them blindly as they are charging 5.5K

edwin.tung, very easy for you to say, being ethnically Chinese from Malaysia who almost have a free pass to get to Sg PR.

Test00,

My advice is to wait another 2 years before applying. You haven't been here long enough (should be on your 2nd EP renewal, ideally, as you will normally be rejected with less than two years on an EP (or with less that two or three tax assessments. Add to that you are not on the most favoured list of ethnicities as I'm sure you are aware of.

Hang in there. Wait until you have received your 3rd tax assessment and then apply, preferably with your whole family in Singapore as without them, it doesn't look good in ICA eyes.

Thanks for your suggestions, @sundaymorningstaple. Can you also give me your opinion on should I be going for PR in the first place? ever? With my profile, do you think I stand a chance to get approved after a couple of years knowing I am not from the high-income group and aging close to 40?
