Thank you in advance. I really applicated for your advice.
Chance is very very low unless you stay in SG for 4-5 years. Even that the quota for your ethnicity MAY be very low.Liketacos wrote: ↑Mon, 03 Aug 2020 1:26 pmGlad I found this forum...want to get everyone’s advice on PR application. My family and I have lived in SG since early 2019. We applied for PR after 9 months of being in the country and we got rejected. We are thinking of applying again in early 2021. Wondering what our chances are.
Me, wife, 6 year old daughter
Me:
Nationality - USA
Race - Chinese
Age - 42
Visa - EP with just one company
Income - high (work in financial services)
Education - Bachelor’s from a top US school
Taxes - 1 IRAS NOA (2019)
Wife:
Nationality - Korean
Race - Korean
Age - 44
Visa - DP
Income - high (but gets paid in Korea, not SG)
Education - Bachelor’s and MBA from top schools
We have bought property in SG. We will have stayed in SG for 2 years by the time we apply again.
Also wondering how the results of the recent GE will impact my chances.
Thanks!

Thanks for your explanation. Wish I asked you for advice before I submitted my application last year. Hahasundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Mon, 03 Aug 2020 3:23 pmAn ABC is not considered ethnicity wise unless they are Malaysian Chinese (1st choice), Indonesian Chinese (2nd choice) and everybody else somewhere in the line. The reason is primarily that Malaysian Chinese are easily assimilated into the local Chinese culture as culturally both are very similar. Indonesian are probably the next easiest for assimilation purposes. Oddly enough PRCs are the hardest to assimilate here are have the hardest time gaining PR (as an ethnic Chinese). ABC's (US & Aus) & BBCs and CBCs find it more difficult as they are culturally usually more Western rather than Asian. Not to say it would be a negative, but is will be a null factor. Add to that, you are both in an industry that is very portable and if you are in a high income bracket (250~300Kpa and up) The government has had too many of these types take up PR only to bail out when their company parachutes them into another country. I wish you luck but we have seen way too many of these types of rejections over the past 10 years here. You have also applied way too soon.
