Hi,

Kindly help to provide your inputs.

I am 29 years old and my wife 25 years old. Both working in an IT software industry. Earning 7.5k per month and 4.7 k per month.

Nationality : India
Expecting a girl baby by September.

I am staying and working in Singapore for 2.5 years and my wife works and stay here for 1 year only.

What are our chances and areas to improve?

Kindly advise.

Chance is very low unless you finish 4+ years of working in SG

You can apply and see. Chance may be low now. Else, increase your salary to around 8K+ and then try. You will have a decent chance then.

Hi all, :D
I have applied for PR in January 2020, it’s already six months and no response or mail from ICA
I would like to verify with the legends here on my chances.

Age : 31
Race : Indian
Gender : Male
Marital Status : Married(didn’t include spouse in application)
Spouse Status : In Singapore on DP, no job
Religion : Hindu
Education : MS from New York State University
Current Field of Work : Java Developer
Work Exp: 9 yrs
Length of stay : 2 yrs 2 months
No of tax return : 1
Salary : Basic 83k
Job : Contract until June 2021 and will be renewed again.
Pass : EP

I have the following questions

1) What are my chances for PR ?
2) The effect of elections, Covid, current economy on my Application now and In future ?
3) My education in United States count for anything ?

Thank you in advance!

Your chance for PR is low even without counting the current pandemic situation.

Negatives
1. Ethnicity
2. Salary on lower side
3. Short Stay in Singapore/Just 1 tax return
4. Didnt include family in application
5. At 9 years you should be a lead and not a developer?

Nationality- Indian
Husband package- 158k + bonus with 15 years experience
Wife package - 100k + bonus with 10 years experience
Husband age - 38 years
Wife age - 34 years

No kids as of now.

Please let me know if we have any chance of approval.

Election year
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

From what I can see, anybody applying for PR during the Covid pandemic is only looking to survive in Singapore, e.g., why apply during a pandemic when you have already been here on EP for 5 years. Does your husband's employment look in jeopardy? Is that why you feel it's necessary at this point in time?

I'm not asking because I want to know. But if the thought occurs to me, you can be sure it occurs to those officers in ICA vetting applications during a period of economic/health crisis. Had you applied for it say, in Sept/Oct of 2019 you probably would have a higher chance (how high is another story however) as it was before the scramble for residency due to economic collapse thought processes.

Are you sure you’ve been in SG for 5 years?

I suggest you don’t just read Times of India and start reading the Straits Times to know what's going here, if you are not already doing so, and if you want to integrate with the society.

The political debates over the past few days during the hustings are targeting a certain group or issue.

You may still have a chance - around 30-35%. But if you are not in a rush and wish to settle here for long, apply after 5 years of your stay in SG.

More like 0.3% to 0.35%. Show me an Indian who got PR in the last 3 months and I bet you've mistaken a SriLankan for an Indian.

Did you hear the old joke about the guy running the chili crab stall on Boat Quay? He had a box of Thai crabs, Aussie crabs and Indian crabs at the front of his restaurant. The Indian crab box was open and a passerby asked "aren't you worried about your Indian crabs escaping?". He said, "no sir, as soon as one Indian crab tries to get out the other Indian crabs pull him back into the box".
