In other words you support Sweden or Singapore?

I support drones dropping nets on infected people and everyone else being free to move around. A pity we can't detect infected people en masse remotely yet.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I would of course prefer target lockdown. But what that has to do with Sweden? I definitely wouldn't prefer the let's let the old people die approach they have had.

Sweden has a light/targeted lock-down. One of the very few countries in the world brave/smart enough to do so.

Sweden never had the "let the old people die" approach. On the contrary their scientists realised early that full economic shut-down would result in a massive increase in excess deaths (i.e. not related to Covid-19) which is in fact increasingly evident in most countries.

Sweden had a massive infection in Stockholm/greater metropolitian area in the Elderly homes. In fact I believe 40% of the total deaths thus far were in those homes.

I guess we would need to have your definition of targeted lock down. Seems like we are talking about different things, could you explain what kind of lock down targeted or other you think Sweden has or had?

On the other hand in Finland next door also big chunk of the deaths are in a few elderly homes in Helsinki area, 30% or more of the total. Only big difference that the total death per million are about 15% of Sweden's levels.

A reasonably neutral summary of Sweden's current state: www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2020/0 ... d-off/amp/

Not very convincing results as such, of course it is true that people were free to hangout at bars and restaurants if that is your major target or measurement. So yes you can interpret the approach to be let the old people die, until mid May when they added some extra precautions for elder care homes. But the other results that their economy is no better shape then the neighbouring Nordic countries does not make a very convincing winning story. Except from that one freedom angle of course where other people's lives are not my problem
