How long will it take for security clearance before Applying EP.

Im vimal , have been staying in singapore for past 10 months in EP. My EP closed(project Ended) recently and currently in Social visit pass.Mean time I got selected in another company,
I got selected for one of the Government company(Direct payroll-contract).They said verbally hiring manager is ready to hire. Reference check is Done.
Now Security Clearance is ongoing.its been one month now but employer says still we didnt get update from security clearance.I didnt get my offer yet..
May I know what kind of security clearance available for EP holders and which one they are doing now and how long it will take?.

It may be because you may be working for a Gov Project, they might need clearance. Have they applied for a EP? Have they released offer to you or any written communication?

If you have not signed the offer, I am not sure on how security clearance can be in progress. Same for reference check also
