PR application clarification

Post by VJK_SG » Thu, 21 Nov 2019 10:48 am

Hi,

I am spouse of Singapore PR, and I am a LTVP pass holder. If I apply for PR, may i know what are major criteria that should be satisfied. I am working in India now and Spouse is working in SG. Also in Form-4SC, there is section called "Employment" whether this is applicable to SG employment or Employment in any other country.

Please let know if there is possibility to get PR if not working in SG.

Regards,
VJK

I did indicate my work experience in India prior to moving to Singapore, particularly nearly 8 years in a very large US MNC. I don't know if it helped though.

If you are not in SG, your chances of getting SPR are close to zero, even if your spouse is a PR and working in SG.

The person can indeed be in Singapore on an LTVP/DP. It's quite common.

Yes it can be an option but for kids on DP they still need to go school, so when places are limited for foreigners the kids will most probably be in their country schooling ..my opinion so wonder if the person not in SG will impact the approval chances

If the person has not made an effort to come to SG on LTVP and stay/work here, on what grounds will ICA be sure that the person will reside here permanently if a PR is granted?

International school? Also there is no mention of kids in the post. Just a spouse.

Hypothetical bud. The post doesn't say anything about kids unless I missed it.

Whether anyone can afford to send kids to international has no bearing in the chance of getting PR. Not staying in SG and married to only a PR is definitely not going to help.

So for family application for PR but the kids are not in SG, can get opinion if this will decrease the PR approval chances?

i think probably chances are less, i have applied for PR on June 2019 for my whole family. myself, wife and 2 years old baby.

myself working as (SPASS) Senior Logistics coordinator in singapore for more than 5 years in same company never changed job before in singapore (GOLD REFINING SWISS COMPANY). i have done my partime diploma and degree here in singapore (LSBF and Kaplan).

my wife is here on EP for more than a year now (SOFTWARE ENGINEERINER - NCS)

my salary around 3K+ / my wife earns 6K+

I have included my baby also in application as we would like to bring him here for scholling next year

i know my chances are slim but gave it a try, its been 5 months plus now and pending, will keep you all updated on result.

This is my first application for PR.

All the best for people waiting for result, may the luck shower on you all  O:)

IMO
Yes.
Because ICA will not know you might be one of PR collector.
Since not staying in Singapore. LTVP is more then enought. Why need PR.
PR aka Permanent Resident.

What is permanent mean?

Even the kids get PR. They might be still schooling in their own country.

ICA seen alot.

If I'm not wrong, because PR is a stepping stone to citizenship, they want to see proof that you are trying to put down roots in Singapore and also that you are integrating. Not just putting down roots while living in a bubble which has people from your own country. So yes it's important to be physically present here.

This is unlike some other countries where they grant PR to people living overseas.... Australia for instance. I know plenty of people who have got PR there without having set foot in the country.
