PR Renewal for My daughter who is above 21 years and studying Overseas

Post by cathsg » Sat, 26 Oct 2019 10:43 am

Greetings :)

My PR is due for renewal in FEB last week. I am 50+ years old and residing in Singapore with my wife.
My wife is a dependent PR. My daughter who is also dependent PR now crossed 21 years old . Completed K1 to JC in Singapore. For Undergraduate she is studying in Overseas.

In the past PR renewal was done by me for entire family. Now I understand if 21 years and above, my daughter PR, she has to do on her own. I am not sure about this rule.

My question is

1) If anyone above 21 years, do they need to renew on their own? (or) Like in the past parent/sponsor can renew?
2) Can she renew from overseas ?
3) Currently she is in Singapore for two weeks holiday. PR renewal can be done only in 90 days in advance, can she renew earlier than 90 days?
4) One of the condition for PR renewal is, Gainfully employed. Since she is a student studying overseas and not working, will it be a concern?
5) If she need to visit Singapore for renewal of PR, then please advise so that during Christmas holidays I can plan.

Thanks

1. On her own
2. It's online from anywhere w Singpass
3. No
4. Not necessarily true - she may have to appeal if denied explaining she is studying overseas.
5. No need. Apply online. We are not in stone age.

Shouldn't be any issue as long as her Singapore address is the same as yours and she is still Single (Important).
