Director level role at Financial Services Firm

Post by midlet2013 » Fri, 16 Aug 2019 2:26 pm

Hi

What is a Director level role in an American Financial Services firm like ? I am from tech background (work at top Silicon Valley firm in Singapore). But I am an IC. I have an offer as a Director level role with people management role. I will be managing an Analytics team.

My thought is that some management experience will be good in long run as I can work as Lead roles from now on. Looking at pay, I do feel the role is better than VPs in Banks and close to SVP.

What is the diff between Director at Financial Services firm vs Banks ?

Hey midget - I don't know but why not go for it! Long time no see!
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Do they have borderless accounts (like bank accounts)?

Its a Payment Industry. I don't know what is a borderless account?

I missed u too PNGMK :) Things were good for me so I never had chance to ask any questions. I had a job at data scientist in a silicon valley company. So, they paid well. So, I was kinda relaxed.

How have you been ? I see you still very active in advising folks here.

Suddenly, this job came and I thought I shd take some leadership type role. Overall, looks good with US culture, high glassdoor rating, good pay. Plus, the demand for data science is so high now that no fear is trying new stuff to grow in career. I hope this experience will help me prepare for Data Science lead roles in my career.

I think I might have cross posted (or the system cross posted) for me Midget. I don't know why the question about borderless accounts was in there.
