Architects in Singapore

Postby archexpat » Tue, 08 Jan 2019 5:43 am

My partner and I would like to immigrate to Singapore to work. We are British citizens and work as Architects (RIBA) in the UK. We would like to find employment before leaving and plan to visit for interviews before we relocate. What is the best way to proceed? Also are there any Architects here that can advise on the work/life balance?

LinkedIn. It's been two decades since I met any Brit archi grads here - there was a shortage in the late 80's of Architects here but I think it's no longer an issue. You can do a lot of research from the UK first.

Thanks for your response.
Interestingly an agency has just emailed me to say the job market isn't great in Singapore at the moment? Disappointed, however I am going to continue speaking to people.

Most of the architects I've known in Singapore have departed for other locales so that sounds about right. The Unis here have pumped out a lot of grads as well over the last few decades so I suspect the market is a bit saturated.
