Moving to Singapore in Nov/Dec - Neighbourhood recommendation

Post by jonny1984 » Fri, 12 Oct 2018 3:43 pm

Hi all

I am moving to Singapore end of Nov / early Dec.

Will probably try to find a short let for the first month or two - any advice on where to find something? Ideally a 1mth or 2mth lease.

Also - longer term, any advice on neighbourhood that might suit the following :

Priorities –

- Budget S$ 5-6k /mth
- 2-3+ bedrooms
- British and would like some “home comforts” nearby to help us settle e.g. supermarkets that stock European products or local European style restaurants etc
- We have a dog, large breed – Golden Retriever – so would ideally like to be within walking distance of a park
- Commute will be to Tanjong Pagar - ideally Max commute time ~ 30mins.
- No kids – so school location not necessary

- We both hate “high rise” blocks - we lived in NY for a bit and hated it ! Would ideally like our own house – or “landed” property . Ideally in a quiet, semi rural location – something that is quite central but feels like you’re a long way out would be ideal

- In London we live in Chiswick - for those who know London, very green , large open spaces and development limited to one storey - so it has a quaint, neighbourhood feel …. But is 15 min drive to Oxford Street (and 30-40 min commute on picc/district)

Thanks in advance !!

Look for landed property around Faber Green first, or Pasir Panjang second. It would give everything you listed in the price you wanted. There are some places at East Coast but that would be more than 30 minutes to Tanjong Pagar.

Ust the map feature to find others, to get to the area I had to pick a particular street https://www...com.sg/map-sea ... 5098112008
