PR application pending for 15 months - Chances?

Post by Jane_L » Mon, 17 Jul 2017 11:29 am

Hi, please kindly have a look at my profile and offer your opinion about my PR application.

This is the third time I applied: 1st time I applied on my own, 2nd and 3rd time was sponsored by my husband who is a Singaporean.

I applied on April 2016. My profile is as follows:
- Female. Vietnamese. 29 year old.
- Studied in NUS for Bachelor and PhD.
- Have been working for 3.5 years in a local company. This is my first job and I have not changed ever since. Promoted once, current salary is 55k/year.
- Have been staying in Singapore >10 years.
- Married to a Singaporean in 2014. My husband has bachelor and master from NUS.
- Trying to have a baby since married. No luck yet.

Thank you for your time.

Hi all, my PR application has been approved and I have received the card. This forum has given me a lot of great advice. Thank you.

The time line is listed below, hope it will be helpful.

28 April 2016: applied for PR (3rd time), sponsored by husband.

17 July 2017: emailed ICA asking for the status

19 July 2017: ICA replied stating "we are processing"

11 August 2017: ICA emailed asking for more supporting documents. (My husband has his own company)
- Husband's company’s Profit & Loss statement for the last 3 years; and
- Husband's company’s past 6 months Business Transactions/Invoices/Receipts/Contracts.

19 October 2017: emailed ICA asking for the status

30 October 2017: ICA replied stating "we are processing"

10 January 2018: emailed ICA asking for the status

22 January 2018: ICA replied stating "we are processing"

29 June 2018: received a letter from ICA asking for my family members' particulars

02 July 2018: faxed and emailed the particulars to ICA

07 July 2018: ICA called my husband asking whether we submitted the particulars to them. (It seems like they can't wait to approve my application )

16 July 2018: checked the status online and saw "Approved" :D , the IPA dated 13 July

26 July 2018: went to ICA to complete the formalities (many thanks to the guide in this forum)

03 August 2018: collected the blue card at Singpost

did you try to email ica to ask about your pr application status? i got my pr approval 2 months after i emailed them.

my profile is quite similar with your case (vnese married singaporean). my pr application got rejected 4 times (3 times on my own and 4th time under my husband's sponsor) and only approve on the 5th time :). i also hold EP while waiting for pr

we also married in 2014. my 5th time apply pr were July 2016 and got approval in Dec 2016.

Goodluck :)

Maybe because she is already on her own EP and doesn't want to go down the LOC road to keep working?

I see no reason why it is less desirable to apply for PR from EP as opposed to LTVP.

Very Low salary for a PhD holder, are you in a startup? Or is it a role entirely irrelevant to your degree? Working on any projects with specific Singaporean institutions to directly benefit the population?

Spouse of SC are strongly encouraged to go the LTVP+ -> PR or jump to SC.

That worked for a lot of folks of late, than fighting for PR directly.

PS, LTVP+
