Maybe not because of all the configuration of mobile is made by Apple and structure is most complicated and OS also belongs to Apple so it becomes hard to fix

It depends on which component is causing the short circuit in the board. A motherboard is just an electrical circuit with transistors, resistors etc in it.

Sometimes when one of the component spoils perhaps the WiFi ic, this can cause the current to stop flowing and by replacing that portion or bypassing it, the board may be able to be revived.

Hope this helps. I know it sound general but every dead board is different.

At least in my case, i was unaware that I had spilt water on my charging xiaomi phone before going to sleep. The water seeped in and soaked
in the motherboard over-night.

Needless to say, the phone was a goner when i checked it the next morning :/ From then on, it has always been water-resistant phones for me

Yeah water damage is usually hard to rescue as it affect too many portions of the motherboard.
