Hospital Bacteria

Post by alkala1 » Sat, 21 Apr 2018 1:18 pm

Hi All
I have recently been hospitalized and during my stay at a private hospital I've got some surgeries and things went quite wrong as I've got a bacteria in the hospital that threat my life, I was wondering if any of you had had same experience with Enterococcus Faecalis.
Thanks in advance

Had a very close colleague go in for a minor leg infection, only to contract a serious "superbug" infection in their supposed safe isolation ward & die from it.
It was heart-wrenching to see him suffer.

I'd say you fared much better.
Stay healthy.

I didn't been through what you are going through now but definitely sounds terrible. How are you now? Getting any better?

because of the large number of patients in hospital, there are really lots of bugs and superbugs.
if u visit hospital, WASH YOUR HANDS frequently.
as an ex-nurse, i can't stop exclaiming how important it is to wash your hands frequently.

And door handles = tons of bacteria.
always wash your hand after leaving hospital too!

Heard of a case like yours too before. It's really hard to control an environment that even our human eyes can't see. Take antibiotics and talk about this to your doctor. Hope you are recovering well!

I doubt that very much. The alcohol content of sanitizer won’t promote growth.

I always debate the effectiveness of soap and water in third world countries. How clean is the water itself? You wash your hands with soap and then rinse with bacteria laden water? Probably OK in Singapore, but would worry about India.

Hand sanitizer is probably the best for now, but won’t be 100% effective against all pathogens.
There's always room for one more
