Exit Permit Question

Hello.
My partner is a Singaporean who is currently in the UK with a valid UK visa.
He also has a valid exit permit.
My question is:
If we were to go on holiday for a while, for example to Singapore, what would be the process for the exit permit?
Does he need to do anything in particular? Or just leave the exit permit as it is as it's just a holiday and would be returning to the UK afterwards?

If he has a valid exit permit that covers the vacation period completely and more then he does not need a new exit permit to leave Singapore once the vacation is complete.
