Canadian in SG with tax questions

Hi there,

Does anyone know of any accountants who specialise in helping expats from Canada? I am Canadian, been living in Singapore for 3 years and have some questions about taxes, if I were to relocate back to Canada, and would like to speak with someone.

You need to talk to someone in Canada, not Singapore. Real expat tax accountants in Singapore, with a solid knowledge of the law and accounting are very rare, often fully booked, and quite expensive. Singapore accountants will be completely useless, folks like PWC could help you out but they'll want your first born, left arm, and right nut, as applicable.

Just search Canadian firms until you find one with a good understanding of international tax and accounting law for Canadians.

Canadians do need to be careful. My understanding is that is it very hard to be non resident for tax purposes as a Canadian.
