Based upon the information you supplied, you should be prepared to wait. Because of widespread abuse from Indian applicants, not only for uni but for jobs as well, the government has cracked down on applications. This means the gahmen will want proof from your "known university" that you attended there, what grades you had, and what courses you took. If your uni is slow to respond, or if your uni is considered at all dodgy, you may wait for quite a long time... there is no way to tell... the only thing certain is that the gahmen is well focused on ferreting out bogus credentials.
Similarly, they may follow up on other aspects of your application, and they will not approve or disprove until such time as they have received all relevant information.
I would contact NUS directly to see what can be done to get your application moving forward, and to see if there is a way to attend school while the application vetting process is in progress.
