Hi all,
Our landlord has returned our deposit to us based on an agreed list of repairs. She has taken around 70-80% of our deposit and returned the rest to our bank account. She has sent a message two days later saying she has found more things that need to be fixed is asking for us to transfer her back $700.
Is this fair? She apparently has 14 days after handover to make such claims but it doesn't seem right that she can return the agreed upon deposit amount and then ask us for more money?
The whole process has been quite horrendous. She went through every detail of the apartment to an impeccable detail and we agreed to everything even though some requests were completely debatable just so we can hand off and forget about it.
Should we ask for legal advice? Do we even have a leg to stand on here or is she in the right?
Thanks in advance!

If you messed the place up, it's fair. If she's trying to whack you for normal wear and tear, it's not fair. You decide. If it's not fair, threaten her with the SCT.

SCT will only allow him to claim a prorated value of the second hand chair and maybe nothing at all. Tell him to bugger off and you'll see him in SCT.
