I'd suggest going for a charter (not for profit) school if you can afford it.
You're criteria should be;
1. Curriculum for home country
2. Charter vs money gouging plagiarizing thieving resourceless inexperienced junior teachers for profit school
3. Distance from home and transport
4. School waitlist (less of an issue since the GFC)
Above assumes you have the wherewithal or funding not to care about cost. If you can swing a place in a local primary even better (seriously well resourced schools leading the way in global primary education - actually giving Finland a run for it's money now).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
