Roudy, I agree with you. In fact, during our first trip there last year, we'd decided we just had to go again and wasted no time booking our second trip.

Mauritius is second on our list of countries to live. Apart from its relative remoteness, it's just about perfect.

Oh, we did find it a little expensive; do you think that's because we were tourists? Or is Mauritius generally on the pricey side?

Mauritius is not that expensive. I think it's mostly because of you being a tourist

By the way, Roudy, do you happen to know a decent car rental company in Mauritius? We've been scanning Google and the usual aggregate holiday sites, but virtually all links are directing us to either intermediates or the big players like Hertz, Budget, Avis etc.

Any insider tips?

There is a yearly Mauritian night for people from Mauritius and friends of people from Mauritius. This year (2018) it is on Saturday 10th of March in "Hood" bar in Bugis. This might be a good place for you to get into contact with people from Mauritius.

Ps. Do know that a ticket is required. I do not know where to get those or if you can buy one at the door.

See you there
