Time granted from IPA and on EP card

Postby annkim123 » Sun, 03 Sep 2017 4:09 pm

Hi guys, sorry I'm new to this forum. I got my IPA letter for EP granted me 24 months. However, when I receive the card, the expiry date is 6 months earlier (so my EP is valid for 18 months only according to the card). Has anyone got the same issue? I will check with MOM tmr since today is Sunday but just want to hear from you guys. Thanks much in advance!

When is your passport expiring?

Of late I believe EP expiry can follow the passport expiry

Sure does. Actually, I believe it is shorter than Passport expiry for the obvious reason.

To be honest SMS, it wasn't like that in the long ago past!! Like 16+ years ago. As long as passport was valid for 6 months or longer, you get the full pass validity stamped.

Even though the EP is approved for N months, the HR while issuing the Pass is given an option of choosing the number of months they want to issue the EP for?

Yeah, I believe I remember that time. :P Just past 70 on Hari Raya and have now officially spent 35 years in the US and 35 years in Singapore.

Is this true? Thank you all for your answer. I checked with MOM this morning but they told me to contact HR instead cos they don't deal with employee, they will only talk to employer. And my HR is on leave today :( . I will check again as soon as I can. for the passport, my one expire nov next year so i don't think it is the issue. On MOM website they also mentioned that passport expiry date doesn't affect the EP expiry date.

Just a little bit of advice.

Don't piss off your HR, not that you need to be subservient.. Especially if your employer is small.

Hi ,
I am new to this forum, i dont know how to post the new topics. Please help me.
My question is , my employer applied for EP online. They have provided a excel sheet to fill all the details. I have filled all the details but i have provided expiry date which is less that issue date wrongly in the excel sheet. Now i doubt whether they have provided same wrong information in Online application. can any one help whether validation of expiry date less than issue date is there in MOM online application. Currently i am unable to go back to them , since they start noise on this. Application has been submitted already. Please help in this regards to clarify the same.

Inform your employer and they will update MOM accordingly.

May be you gave a copy of your passport to your employer and they filled in correctly, when they spotted it?

Hi, I informed employer, they are checking with the vendor who submitted the application online. waiting for their reply. we dont know what they entered. We have already provided the soft copy of my passport. Since in excel sheet i provided back dated expiry date wrongly, when vendor submitting with the same value , whether MOM online application wont allow rite? do u have experience on this, whether MOM website will allow backdated expiry date to enter? Please help in this.

Dont panic and just wait. When the vendor submit the application, it will allow them to save a copy as PDF. Check in that.
