Ah, you didn't know ? this board is closely watched by ICA and MOM, and every comment is carefully attended torie.p wrote:Hi all,
It makes me wonder if ICA goes to this forum and see if got people complain waiting long long or not
Coincidence ..My post was on 5+ pm and my in-principle approval came at 6+ pm! (email & online iEnquiry)
Thank you all for your words of wisdom/comfort ^_^
Others may say otherwise, but my suggestion is to go to ICA and ask for an extension in person and show the Approval letterThe only thing is that eAppointment is like earliest available date is 6 Nov whereby my SVP (30 days extended to 60 days expiring on 6 Oct)

I think you need to try and let it flow over you. Stressing will gain you nothing, and ... just stress you. If you gave the application your best shot there is nothing more you can do.faithandme wrote:congratulations ts.
i've applied pre marriage ltvp assessment 2 weeks + ago and the case is still pending.
though ica says that the process can take up to 4 weeks, but i see cases of success within 1-2 weeks.
is there anybody in the same boat?
i'm getting really anxious and stressed out as i do not want to go back to long distance relationship again. it's torturous.

No two applications are the same, so comparing vs others is futile.
If you see your future in SG then I expect you'll be going through this 'waiting game' in several other varieties. Sometimes the wait occurs intentionally, to ensure that your application is serious*. It's probably healthier to try and become philosophical about it now.
p.s. welcome to the forum
* - yep, some people really do apply and then change their mind a few weeks later, even before a decision has been made.

I am anxious as well, congratulations rie.p for getting your LTP issued.
A little background about myself, I am a Korean guy (TALL, PALE and Handsome to some) HA. and married to a cute Singaporean wife.
Did anyone mentioned that the process in Singapore is very tedious, first the ROM then the LTVP assessment which and opps, as on one of my social playful trips here I actually got myself a work permit ( which I did not work here) and for ex work permit holders you actually have to get permission from Ministry of Manpower to marry the Singaporean ( I mean how odd is this?) I mean where is the freedom to fall in love and marry here.. everything in Singapore is good, from the food to the cleanliness, down to safety of the traffic pedestrian crossings... Though they don't seem foreigner friendly when it comes to opening the doors of Singapore. If all options fails, I told her we should consider to head back to Busan (where I come from, not from the land of zombies or so you saw in the latest movie..) where the housing and the cars are so much more affordable.
House approx 3 bdrms and 2 Toilets approx SGD $180,000 I don't think this price will get you a 2 room flat in Singapore!
Car Depending on make and model SGD $10,500-21,000 should get you a made in Korea Car
Thankfully all these took abit of time from the approval from MOM to marry to approval of LTVP assessment.
Now am actually in to the 5th week of LTP application and checking it online every other hour doesn't seem to help much with the status pending at " Your Long Term Pass Application is receiving attention"
Can anyone tell me besides sitting in front of my computer, playing starcraft, chewing on taccos or beef jerkies is going to speed up the process.
I am planning to buy a place with my newly wedded wife;- we have checked with HDB on the process and it seems it is only POSSIBLE for the application to take place AFTER my LTP is issued. Well its going to be more waiting time, I am sorry but in Korea we tend to be a little less patient when we come to this.
I am a pro gamer and she's in real estate management, we both are drawing about SGD$5,000-8,000 per month (varied but stable income)
Oh anyone could also advise is it possible for my wife to be my sponsor and apply simultaneously for PR since we are planning to stay here for the long-term? Or its more feasible to apply only after x-amount of years staying in Singapore?
Any advise is much appreciated!
LeeTheMan wrote:Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the reply. Pass 3 months? That's 12 weeks, time here passes painfully slow, well hopefully I will get the result before my younger sister gets hitched which will be in December. They will be coming to Singapore for the first time and I told them to probably go to Phuket (where I had spent my honeymoon)
So what is your take on PR applications?
Are they going to let more Koreans in their doors?
P.S. my wife lost her Identification card and it cost her SGD$300 and 3 months to replace!
I lost mine in Korea and it cost SGD$10 (8,000 won) and takes a week to replace

You have some kind words about the Singapore way of the govt helping couples getting hitched and making..
Welcome to Singapore.
About the processing, you can't do anything until you get a pass or fail.
My tea leaves say it's gonna be a pass.
More, take it easy, play more games, and if you believe in God, pay!
And don't start asking ICA for updates until you pass 3 months and no updates
Good luck.
