PR CHANCES AFTER SOME ADJUSTMENTS FROM LAST POST

Post by jay1979 » Fri, 28 Apr 2017 4:56 pm

Hello !

would like to get some views from the pro's on my current chances.. applying for PR next month .

Nationality - HK - Chinese to be exact. ( Born in HK )
Race : Indian
Age - 38
Self Employed - Managing director of a Trading company ( Exports of foodstuff )
Local Staff : 1
3 Personal Tax NOA's - check
3 Company Tax NOA's - Last two NOA's paid about 45 K in tax each year . Company revenue around 6-7 M a year.
Salary : Gross : 250 K
Married - Wife is an Indian National . Not employed.
- Daughter born here in Singapore ( Also HK passport )
Educational backround - GCSE O Levels - Started working right after Form 5 .

Dealing and buying goods from local singapore companies for re export shipments here in Singapore and got alot of family ties here ( First cousins, uncles, Aunts ) , My grandparents from Singapore - All born and bred here .

Does it help that I have a Hong Kong Passport rather then an Indian one ? What Ive been reading is it's pretty tough to get approvals on Indian passports.

Any views ?

Thanks,
J

As long as the race is Indian, it is going to be tough. But since you are contributing to the Singapore economy via taxes, etc you have a decent chance.

Very good chance I would say. You tick more boxes that a EU/US economic refugee does.

Hi All,

After applying for PR in May this year, I got the dreaded " rejected " status when I checked online today. Waiting to see if the letter has any reasons, but from what Ive been reading, I should get the default "you are welcome to work on your current valid pass etc."

Wife is pregnant , so thats the good news :) Will reapply in the future if any substantial changes , but for now, the only change could be time ( longer I stay the better the chances ) , or If I have a baby boy lol.

Just wanted to give an update.

Cheers and Good luck to those who are waiting !

J

Maybe you need to hire more local staff? You only have 1 for a $7m turnover company...invest more into Singapore manpower

Just an update guys. Pr application approved. Just a bit of background

Self employed ( Trading company )
Race : Indian
Nationality Chinese ( HK passport )

Been in singapore since March 2014.

First time applied in 2017 and was rejected. Second application applied in July 2018 and approval just today after 19 months gruelling wait.

Changes from my last application- employed staff , bought a commercial property as an investment , had twins and one of them was a boy.

My 21 month old son took one for the team as now its NS for him lol.

Thanks everyone on the forum for the guidance.

Kung hei fat choy !
