A smart phone for me is a gsm phone (voice + txt), plus a functional backup to the Ipad and a camera (I also have a full blown regular camera in my backpack). Very occasionally I may post some stuff on FB, take photos, and that's roughly it.

IIRC the Nexuses are pricey.
the Nokia 6 runs a stock android and it is quite cheap. i use a 73$ Lumia 540 atm and i upgraded it from windows 8 to windows 10 .. its a bit slow but for a device with 1GB RAM its pretty decent.
I don't believe in buying expensive smartphones anymore, they are all the same crap in a year or two's time.
Windows ... eeee... but I see somthing like this that lacks any details:
http://www.lazada.sg/nokia-x-4gb-black- ... .html?ff=1

and Nokia X can come in different flavors (e.g. 1 vs 2 sims).
I must say one thing what Nokias are famous for is here pretty tempting - the max standby time up to 17 days vs 7 days of Redmi 4A.

Lol you found a Nokia X that runs Microsoft android.. Yes msft made an android version..
If you want Lumia phones go on ebay

Got Redmi4a. Impressions so far positive. Brightness/contrast not close to Iphone 5s, but this was expected. I can't find my old HTC to compare, but seems better than LG G2 mini. Performance-wise good. Pics quality, good. Still some more critical things to check.

there are worse believe me...at least these were meant for the non smartphone people, as secondary phones they are great.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

Reporting after 1 more week... (Redmi 4A)
The battery life is better then that of i5s (fresh iphone battery, same condition of use).
Perhaps the greatest surprise of all, the screen visibility in full day sunlight is good.

Unless it dies within a year or two or something gets broken some idiotic way, I think this phone will only strengthen my already good opinion on the Xiaomi brand.

I just bought a brand new Redmi Note 4 export set from little India for $195. Main reason for upgrading from my Redmi Note 2 was because I need 4G+3G dual SIM support. So far this phone is awesome.

100% confirmed 4g/3g standby ?

My Asus only allows 2G+3g/4G standby for dual SIM.

Yes, 100% confirmed. I am currently using 1 SIM 4G data and other SIM falls back to 3G voice. The older devices with lower end chips supports only 2g on the secondary SIM.

Mediatek X20 and Snapdragon 625/650 support 3g for the secondary SIM.

There is an entire epic thread on HWZ which discusses this. I used info from that thread extensively to make sure I get the right phone.

My Asus allows one 3g / 4g at a time, either SIM 1 or SIM 2.

Will read up on Red Mi.

Lovely.

Due to technical constraints, I am switching to Red Mi soon.

Bye Asus

The zenfone 3, go and deluxe donot support 4g+3g.

But it looks like the zenfone 3 max does support 4g+3g, looking at the specifications. But test before buying.

Yeah, I always found Asus underspeced compared to Xiaomi for the same price.

This phone for example:
https://redwhitemobile.com/phone/asus-z ... 20kl-32gb/

seems like it will support 4g+3g as it is same snapdragon 625 processor but its battery much inferior 2600mAh compared to Xiaomi's 4100mAh and it cost around $100 more than Xiaomi.

Redmi 4A is 4G+2G but for me it's not a problem. The rare occasion I may consider putting the 2nd SIM in, it is going to be in the countries where 2G still is present and I won't use singtel data roaming anyway.
