Donald Trump blasted Malcolm Turnbull over a "dumb" refugee swap deal during a tense phone call, it has emerged, as the Australian Prime Minister was forced to deny that the US president slammed the phone down on him.
Its certainly a change for the world!

Not quite sure, in any case, how, from half way round the world, anybody can tell whether the phone was slammed down, not, or thrown against the Oval's wall.

I'm sure Trump would be more upset at Obama agreeing the deal in the first place than Turnbull simply saying "Hey, we got an agreement, mate!"

No action can be as bad as taking the wrong action. At least if you make a mistake you can fix it but by doing nothing at all, everything simply gets worse. I seem to be in cliché mode today but there's the old saying "Don't trust anybody that never makes a mistake. If they never make a mistake it simply means they are doing nothing." More often than not, if mistakes are made they can at least be fixed.......I'd only say, keep the guy AWAY from a BIG RED BUTTON hidden in his desk drawer, that's one mistake that, for sure, can never be fixed.

Actually, that's not quite true, Kieth Richards can probably sort something out. He'll be the only one left, smoking a few cockroaches.

It is quite sad that politicians see being partisan more important than being a good citizen.

Didn't James Madison warn us (i.e. in The Federalist Papers, #10) about the dangers of partisanship, and that parties ("factions") "have been the mortal diseases under which popular governments have everywhere failed"?

Don't think we've seen such polarisation since the middle of the 19th century, and that did not turn out well.

Not to mention that the Orange Pendejo is mentally ill. Congressional Republicans don't care. They will use him to advance their programs, and when done, they will impeach him. They'd much rahter have Pence, anyway.

Donald Trump insists presidency is 'fine tuned machine' after extraordinary 75-minute press conference in which he attacks press
Donald Trump launched an extraordinary attack on the news media on Thursday afternoon in a wide-ranging, wild 75-minute press conference.

Mr Trump insisted that his team was running "like a fine-tuned machine" and lampooned the mainstream media that he said was peddling "fake news".

“I open the paper and I see stories of chaos, chaos,” he said. “It’s the exact opposite. This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine, despite not being able to get my cabinet approved.”

The US president said reports in the media about his administration's relationship with Russia may make it difficult for him to strike a deal with Vladimir Putin to ease tensions between Washington and Moscow.

This man is an embarrassment to the United States. Listen to what he had to say about anti-semitism.
