EP pass is in Pending status since 4 weeks.

Post by codejamster » Wed, 15 Jun 2016 5:14 pm

Hi,
I am having 6yrs exp in IT.and offered opportunity in Singapore with 9000sgd.

The company raised EP application in may, but still it's showing in Pending status.
When I talk to the HR, they said delay is happening for all EP applications due to stringent rules now.
I have heard and even MOM site mentions EP approval usually comes in 7 days.
Can anyone throw some light ?
Appreciate your response.

Reread your 4th paragraph until it finally sinks in. Best advice you will get. Also your 5th paragraph has a key word in it. "usually" times are different so it's not usually at the moment.

Why bother to update the website when it's okay. It is ambigeous for a reason. It's stupid to update it on a monthly basis or even weekly basis. If you don't have patience, you don't really need to live in Singapore. Seriously. You need a lot of patience here. Then are known for their efficiency here. They are good at what they do. They only get the wool pulled over their eyes two or three times and then everybody else pays for it. So when you run into your countrymen who maybe pulled one over the government, be sure to thank him for screwing it up for those who follow. Now you don't get in until in country (your home country) vetting is done. That used to be done after you got your pass and started working. Now, because of your countrymen and their penchant for counterfiet documents or bogus degrees, everybody who follows pay for it. Be sure to thank them, ya hear?

my only concern is "Why NO Deadline" ? Even for H1b for US has a deadline.
I agree vetting should be done to the root level due to some corrupt folks others too have to pay for it, , in fact you can say it will take 1,2 or 3 months at most, but it MUST be specified.
my only reason to post here is to understand, how long can it take to process EP (Max time) and are there other folks for whom its showing Pending since 1 month?

WHY must it be specified? Who makes the rules? You? I think not. You are trying to work in Singapore. Singaporee has it's own style of doing things. My advice to you is cool it. After all how long is a piece of string. If you want Specified, the go to the US and get an H1b. No skin off of Singapore's nose. They could care less. It's their ball, their game, their rules and their ballpark. Capisce?

I already have H1b and working in US since 3 years.
Also i really have no interest and time to frame rules for Singapore.
Definately its their ball game. Wish them luck .!!
Also those who are sailing in same boat as me, would request them to post here.
Just want to make sure that processing time is going in 3,4 weeks for all or randomly.

One poster here handles loads of Passes... and you can't believe him :)

If Singapore is not meeting your standards why not just withdraw your application? Image

Nevermind, Squirrel, let him just sit and stew in his juices. You know how they are. They come here looking for sympathy and answers (as long as the sympathy is for their predicament and the answers agree to their preconceived notions). Heaven forbid you disagree with them. Singapore really doesn't give a damn what people think. They are going to do it their way, EOS. ;-)

And why might that be? Be careful, you might just end up with .....

The country doesn't need you. The company only thinks they need you because you work cheaper. The country is trying to make it harder and harder to hire foreigners deliberately. And, anymore, I can't say as I blame them.

When was that? Are you working now?

Or should I ask are you currently working in Singapore or in Makiti in the 'peens where you are posting from. [-X
