PR pending status

Post by Ruff13 » Wed, 17 Feb 2016 9:23 pm

Hi all,

Will need advises!!

I'm Malaysian Chinese (but reside in Brunei as my family is all Brunei PR)
29 this year
Holds S pass
Monthly basic at $3,450.
Work in retail industry(management)
I applied 2nd time at 21 Aug 2015 and status still pending as of today.

ACCA affiliate
Diploma in Accounting and business
Lcci gourp Lvl3
GCE "o" level

Move to sg in 2010
Study in kaplan till 2012

I applied once at 2013 and got rejected on nov2013

1st job S pass (1yr) 2k - retail
2nd job S pass (1yr) 2.4k - audit
3rd job S pass (6months) 2.5k - retail
4th job S pass (6 months) 3.5k -retail
Current job like the above.

A big issue is my Brother was studied in NUS and got a PR in 2008 then on 2012 he rejected of becoming a citizen in SG. And on 2014 he forgo his PR in Sg and went back to Brunei.

Whats the odd and chances of me getting a PR?

Thanks in advances

How many months did it take for ICA to reject your 1st PR application in 2013? It could provide telltale signs

You don't live in Singapore?

I can guess what the purpose of PR is , but really what do you want it for?

What address are you putting on your application?

Chinese from Brunei had a special place in Singapore.

Not sure if the same privilege applies Malaysians PR in Brunei ;)

Her Brunei PR shouldn't have any bearing on her application as the only thing that matters is her passport nationality (citizenship). As she is Malaysian Chinese she will assimilate easily (especially with 5 years here under her belt/skirt/whatever already) at 29 she's ripe for breeding stock and her income is higher that some we've seen over the past couple of years.

I'm assuming her income has risen along with the job hopping which shows she learned well while going to school here. Therefore I see her succeeding, although, with one rejection there could be a problem. Also her brother could be a problem, but that would depend on whether or not his name is on her application or not. The first rejection was probably because she had only 1 years work (or less) when she applied. Now she has 3 years and 4 jobs!! But that is a typical Singaporean pattern as well, so I think she may well succeed. Apply. If you don't apply the answer is surely no.

Fair chance. Being brought up in Brunei may add up in your favour, besides being Malaysian Chinese. As the citizenship rejection rate also would be high among many Malaysian Chinese, your brother's rejection of citizenship may be a simple case which ICA would have seen many times, and may not be a factor of consideration.

Hi all...

My PR just got approved as I check online...

Will need advises and some queries to the formalities of PR.

My PR got approved on 15March16.
Applied on 21 Aug 15.

Currently i resign already and is serving my notice period till 31 March 16.

And yes I tendered earlier due wanting to change environment and when my pr application status is pending. So it's really a regret since I have not finalized all the pr since it took so long time and I would have foresee it been rejected.

But my notice period is ending soon.

1. I would be away from singapore for 1 month till may then just came back sg for finding job.

2 Do I go for the appointment for completion of formalities even my pass is being cancelled? Or wait till I got another job?

3. Or I could go for the entry permit?

4. Or simply get a normal job with basic pay just to complete the formalities of my PR?

Thanks in advance

You mean you quit your job without a new job secured?

Serious question: do you have the option to stay on another couple months?

On edit: If that's not possible, you might be able to rush through formalities within the next couple weeks. Make an appointment using these instructions as soon as you possibly can (after you get your letter, presumably), at the earliest date allowed. Keep monitoring the system to see if you can get an even earlier appointment. Ask your (soon-to-be-ex) employer to complete an EP152.(*) Your employer may refuse. If so, gather the past 6 months of payslips.

Be entirely truthful. If you're asked about the status of your employment (e.g. when it's ending), tell the truth.

You picked a heck of a time to quit your job. Congratulations. ;)

On second edit: You also have the option to decline PR status. Also, in lieu of an EP152 your employer can issue what you might call a "customized EP152," that is, a written, signed statement that you will be in their employ through March 31, 2016. That should do. This letter must be dated within 2 weeks of your appointment at ICA, so I would ask for such a letter now.
