S-pass kept being rejected although i'm under tuition grant bond

Post by natashawong » Thu, 21 Jan 2016 2:53 pm

Hello,
I am not a PR in Singapore but I have graduated in 2011 in polytechnic. I have a tuition grant bond with MOE and have to work for 3 years in Sg of that. However, I've been trying to find a job these past 2 years and I am always rejected when the company tried to apply for me an S-pass.

My pay is below $2200 but when I did the self-assessment tool on MOM's website, it was stated that I am qualified for an S-pass even if my pay isn't $2.2K.

My company tried to apply work permit for me, but is it allowed? Is there anyway or anything I can do? Because my Long term visit pass is expiring this month 31st January, and MOE is NOT letting me renew them at all. They simply expect me to pay the liquidated amount of $55K if I can't find a job by this month.

I appreciate all the help that will be given to me. thank you!

* Fixed monthly salary of at least $2,200. The salary should reflect work experience. Older, more experienced applicants need higher salaries to qualify.
* A degree or diploma. We may consider technical certificates, such as courses for qualified technicians or specialists. The certification should include at least 1 year of full-time study.
* Years of relevant work experience.
You need a minimum salary of $2200/mo before your application will be accepted by the MOM 'for consideration'. this doesn't mean, even if you salary is above the minimum, that you will get said 'S' Pass. Without the requisite income level there is no way you will get an S pass. The self assessment tool is only to gauge your academic & experience levels. I'd say you are in a world of crap, truth be known. How have you been surviving the past 2 years?

At the same time, I found a job at this time during my wits end but they need to apply for me work permit. But I was rejected under MOM because my pass is not 4 months or more valid.

Now I'm stuck in the middle ground because 1) MOE don't let me extend anymore bUT 2) I found a job.

I enquired with MOE but they kept on asking me to wait. The days are getting nearer and I do not know what I should do. Is it advisable for me to cancel my long term visit pass( ltvp) card with ICA first?

But if I cancel it with ICA, I don't know how my job employer is going to hire me without a long term visit pass card.

Stuck and confused. If anyone knows any solution, please let me know.
Really appreciate it! Thank you.

Girl, if you don't know what is "profession" and by any chance MOM happens to know about it, then really no wonder.

Also, please don't post the same message in different threads.

What course did you finish in Poly? One reason MOM could reject your applications is that the position you are applying for is not relevant to your field of study. Just an example, one graduated with an electronics diploma and applied for work as a retail assistant. This application could be rejected.
