it was almost entirely my fault for not noticing the substance on the road... except i will remark that the cement powder was not easily distinguishable from the asphalt... and i shouldn't be leaning over that much on unfamiliar public roads... even on 3 wheels.

i am usually a careful rider, but i was just glad to be off the plane and on my bike and got carried away with getting away from saturday afternoon traffic while what was supposed to be a ride to buy a pair of riding gloves.
Good to hear you are back to firing in all cylinders :)

Good thing there is at least one other thing you can do with one hand.

Glad you are on the mend. Shiny side up!

I am bemused by the fact that the doctor didn't want to comment on your fracture..
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

i was actually very annoyed. i mean, what good is a a doctor in the A&E if he can't even give me a diagnosis from the big film of a very broken finger. what's worse - there was no attempt made to stabilize my fracture, and additionally, i was NOT told what to do to prevent/reduce further shifting...

i suspect there're referral fees involved as well, but i cannot be sure if he takes a cut... but definitely major incompetence IMO.

today, week 6: my crusty hand (with a thick layer of yellow/grey dead skin!) on my way to the hospital after cutting the cast off.

the reddish/pink parts are areas that the dead skin have just been sloughed off from. they return to normal after some time (like the middle portion of my 4 fingers).

now the tough part of getting good strength back in this hand. i'll likely heed eagle's advice for this hand as well.
