DP privileges

Post by NorrinRadd » Sat, 21 Nov 2015 3:31 am

Is there a sub forum for this kind of discussion some one can point out to me?

Can a DP work, can a DP get a bank account? If for part time work, would a company need to sponsor an EP, or would the EP of the EP-DP couple need to declare anything with MOM?

Can a DP work,
Only if the company wishing to employ the DP applies for and receives a Letter of Consent (LOC) from MOM
can a DP get a bank account?
Yes.

As above, either the employer applies for a LOC or an EP. LOC has no income requirements so maybe better suited for part time work. Some employers don't know about LOC, others wary because if the underlying EP supporting the DP goes away, so does the LOC.
