CPF (Maximum Contribution)??

Post by RedRidingHood » Mon, 23 Nov 2015 10:43 am

I've been managing an online business for the last 5 years, and paying myself a salary of S$11 000 per month. As a SPR, my monthly CPF contribution is S$1800 which I believe is the max amount for CPF contribution.

I'm now keen to develop a business in teaching, and have signed up as a supply teacher here. I hope to contribute to manage my online business (though it pretty much runs by itself now) and pay myself the same salary (for purpose of mortgage as well as PR renewal)

My question here is if I'm already contributing the max CPF, do I still need to contribute CPF from my teaching job?

From the Horse's mouth (CPF):

Q

If I am employed by more than one company, can I choose only one company to contribute CPF?

A
No. If you are concurrently employed by more than one employer, all your employers must pay CPF contributions based on the wages paid.

However, if your total wages exceed the Ordinary Wage ceiling, you may apply to limit your share of contributions on Ordinary Wages. Please send in your application by emailing us at [email protected] with the following information:
the amount of Ordinary Wages from each employer;
the employee's share of CPF contributions; and
the amount of CPF contributions to be paid through each employer.

All your employers have to pay the usual employer's share of CPF contributions on the full amount of wages, subject to the Ordinary Wage ceiling.

Nice business RRH!
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
