Golden Retriever with Hot Spots

Hi Expats,

I have a Golden Retriever that i have brought over from NZ. He has been in Singapore for a number of years (he is 10 now), but over the last year/18 months the Singapore humidity seems to be getting the better of him and he is constantly breaking out in hot spots all over his body and belly.

We have taken him to the vet multiple times and they keep prescribing antibiotics, anti-septic lotion and special shampoo.

After the antibiotics he does clear up, but only until a couple of weeks after the dose finishes then he just seems to break out again.

We are bathing him once a week and have shaved his hair very short and keep him in air-con 24x7 but nothing seems to help.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation with their dog. Did anything help? Are there any recommendations for a good vet for this?

Really appreciate any input that you guys have.

Hot spots? What are they? Sounds like mange.

Have you clean his bed and sheets/ towels he used? Use the clean one every time after his bath, hope this helps
