We all know Greece's economy is down the toilet eh, and the economic stars and bully-boys Germany and France are dishing out their foul fiscal medicine.

But hang on, in today's news...

'Greece economy in surprise return to growth.
The Greek economy grew by 0.8% in the second quarter of the year'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33908034

'French economy grinds to a halt as German growth disappoints
The French economy stagnated in the second quarter as household spending slowed and business investment contracted. Zero growth in the three months to June...
It came as official figures showed Germany expanded by 0.4pc in the second quarter, which was slightly lower than estimates for growth of 0.5pc
. ...'

Headline this pm: 'Greece sells 14 airports to Germany's Fraport as third bailout eyed'.

How about that, first go in and crush them, then scavenge around to pick up their assets on the cheap.

Morgan Stanley has come up with a new term "Troubled Ten" and Singapore Dollar is the only developed market currency featuring in it :)

Malaysia worse than Mexico. Now Ringgit is expected to fall even more and Malaysia being Singapore's largest trading partner, implies, SGD will follow suit as well.

China sneeze = SG catch cold. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out, let's hope it doesn't get too messy.

China slowing down and dropping rates / US speeding up and looking to raise them. Interesting times!

Interestingly, the EUR is today 1.129 and not 0.85 US Cents as was expected. So some how the EUR, AUD, JPY currency fall has halted and now we have a full blown emerging market currency sell off.

Just goes to show that analysts will always predict crazy stuff and rarely get it right. EUR cannot go to 0.85C to USD. The USD itself isn't some sort of haven. Just wait until the strong dollar starts hurting US growth and the USD strength will reverse automatically.

We are in for interesting times though. In the past the advice was to remain in cash so that you can buy when everything crashes. Today the question is what is cash? Is it USD?EUR?GBP...

When is the Govt here going to step in on the Sing Dollar?

Or is it trying to keep pace with the Ringgit heading down the the drain?

Sing dollar is correctly valued, may be tad overvalued. MAS may actually ease further and send the SGD lower as inflation is negative and a technical recession is possible. But the Sibor will rise and hurt the property sector.

Had a look at the markets today? All markets are bleeding 3-6%. Feels like we are back to a new financial crisis.
