anybody ever transfer a helper?

Post by johnhulpke » Mon, 08 Jun 2015 2:57 pm

Any experience with this, transferring a helper? We will move to Singapore Aug 2015 and maybe a family will be moving out. Is it possible to "transfer" a helper? (we will post an ad in classifieds too, this is just to get background info on the possibilities (or impossibilities). Cheers, Hong Kong John

If your helper is PRC, no way you can transfer as Singapore don't take in PRC helper. Filipino, Indonesian, Myanmese I think you can. But you need local agency in Singapore to do the paperworks for u.

It happens often enough.
Many Expat families try to "place" good helpers with other expat families when they leave by posting on expat club bulletin boards.
We got a helper this way when we 1st came 19 years ago.

There are a couple of notices at the American Club for expats leaving in August trying to place their helpers. FYI.

PM if you're looking for somebody. Our kids are getting to the age we don't need a f/t helper anymore and are looking to help ours find a new employer.

I think she has found a new employer already but if it doesn't work out will let you know.
