Basically this thread is meant to be a collection of funny abbreviations or terms that you invent or find relevant to Singapore.
if you find something relevant please feel free to add/update this list.

In general it is used to mean "person". But if I remember correctly, it originated from UK transport industry to mean "Passenger Allowed in Expenses" or something like "Per Annum Exclusive" for housing.

Need to ask folks like JR8 etc.

PAX is a curiously local thing, in Latin it means 'peace', so that's no help. No one back home would get what it meant if you used it in a property ad.

My wife and I have a custom acronym 'CB'*, that only we will understand if spoken amongst others, it derives directly from the two Hokkien Chinese words that make up the 4-letter vulgarity for a women's genitalia.

Since I've had it aimed at me [albeit to my back] in full, I don't feel unjustified using a coded/sanitised version between me and my wife when the very occasional situation merits it.

* This has risen to an even more encrypted form. CB is the post-code handle for Cambridge city in England. Hence you get 'Jeez, this bloke's a right Cambridge eh?'
