I have been using DigitalOcean for about a year.
- Their pricing is indeed that competitive
- Their SSD servers are fast.
- They are really easy to set up.
- Uptime is really good
For linux VMs, I switched from AWS to DigitalOcean and never went back to AWS.
For windows VMs, I am still using AWS

Yes, they're really that good. I wish they'd add more regions.

Sure looks like it, and sounds about right. Dropbox is $99/year for 1TB which is essentially unlimited, and they've always priced themselves much higher as a "premium" service.

I understand that people have different capacities/limitations and for many of them already 1TB is a lot (what could be also seen from this discussion earlier), but contradictory to Sunday brunches with free flow of alcoholic beverages, here, there is an accumulating factor. If no limit is set, people may just dump their stuff and forget about it.

I could be wrong, but I just asssumed Amazon works on a similar model to dropbox where you must keep a local sync'ed copy. That is pretty prohibitive when it comes to really using "unlimited" space. Most people won't have that much 'unique' content. Even if you sync your OS and applications,, de-dupping on Amazon's side will minimize how much space you're actually using of theirs.
When it comes to content, the biggest drain will likely be pirated media which again will be de-dupped since everyone will be sycning the same few versions of the same movies/music.
