'weird light' and clarity

Post by JR8 » Fri, 10 Apr 2015 11:10 am

I was sitting on the balcony looking out on the view, and I realised that something with the light is different. [Weird I know, but seriously].

So I was pondering this :-k The colours of greenery and buildings are much more vibrant than usual, and highly defined. It's like using a polarising filter to take a photo, or cranking up the 'saturation' when editing a photo.

Then I realised I can see the hill over to the west in Johore state (maybe 15 miles away?), and sun sparkling off the fuselage of a jet taking off from Changi (must be 10+ miles). Pretty amazing!

Is it simply an unusually clear day causing this? If so this could be a great day for going up to one of the observations decks (Ion = $free, or MBS = not free).

Anyone else notice this? I wonder what the PSI is... we had early rain this morning, so that might have cleared the air...

Edit/add: Current PSI = 49
