I thought cockpit is always auto-locked. That's why every time one of the pilots steps out for toilet or coffee, a cabin crew member has to sit in with the other pilot, just in case something happens. Otherwise the other pilot would be by himself and it is dangerous.

Just chatting to a pilot friend about this who used to fly the 320 (not for this airline)

• The door does autolock.
  There should always be at least 2 people in the cockpit but airlines do differ.
  You can gain access from the outside by entering an emergency code, but
  The door can be intentially locked and the keypad disabled from the inside

If it was the cabin staying pilot deliberate action, then the question is, why he did not just increase the rate of descent? The plane hept decending over ~10 min before it crashed so there was some risk that the door could be forcibly open? Or it is not possible?

Perhaps pilots should have biometric logs on their bodies tied to the door lock.

Looks like a little doubt is left already as of the co-pilot intention to crash the plane.

In another paper it was reported that the co-pilot breathing was heard till the last moment and it was not a sound of somebody having, for example, a heart attack.
