Cool

Suggestions: Brauhaus at United Square, Novena (2 stops on from Orchard) http://www.brauhaus.com.sg/html/aboutus.html Mrs. JR8 went last week and thought it was good.
Brotzeit: 313 Somerset - outdoors under a huge glass canopy roof, Raffles City, (and others) http://www.brotzeit.co/outlet/singapore

Pros: Easy for public transport afterwards. Taxis also apparently good from Novena, even if late.
Good food options.
Huge range of beers, some very interesting.
Cosmopolitan atmosphere and crowd.

Cons: The Orchard area might be less of a natural crossing point for all [?]
The beer will be more than $25/jug, but I'd favour smaller+quality over larger+economy.

Just my 2C!

Edit to add: http://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Restauran ... apore.html - Up on a hill in Queenstown. Veeeery different, like going through a time warp to the 50s/60s. You can almost imagine sitting in a remote hill-side hill-station barracks in some colonial outpost. Best beer/cider fridge I ever seen in SG, relatively good pxs too considering the peculiarly niche/high-end beers they stock. - BUT sadly, not simple to get to...
Just suggesting it, not as an Eagle's venue, but as a place FTs here should go and experience once, given how completely different it is from the norm...

I work in United Square. Not sure if that's good or bad. Do I go home and come back or start the drinking a couple of hours before the rest of you arrive

If you last outing was anything to go by, go home, eat something and come back! Otherwise you are liable to disappear before we even get there! :P

Somewhere down on the quay-side? Make a suggestion. See the post at the top of this page from JR8 and my post on the previous page. As a seldom drinker, I'm not in a position to make suggestions so am depending on you guys to set the venue. ;-)

I say we go back to Boat Quay. Its a lively atmosphere, easy to find the meeting place and easy to get to.

I don't know the names of the bars there though. I don't think it matters which one, maybe the same place we met before?

Yea, there are enough bars along there any one of them would probably do. If we have no decision by tomorrow morning I will Google and pick a place!

What about POW or the Psuedo Pub place just at the back? (Penny Black)?

Colbar - it's a hangover from the British Army days... It's a lot of fun althought the food is a bit hit or miss.
