When did the "motorcycle kept left on Expressway"

Post by PNGMK » Tue, 23 Sep 2014 8:11 am

I remember in the late 90's ... pretty sure it was here in 2000... but since 2005 I haven't seen it. In the old days bikes were meant to keep left. Does anyone know why or when it changed? Not that I care.

As far as I know it's no longer in force. (and I ride 10,000km a year just in Singapore)

Left in the lane, or in the far left lane?

Left in the far left lane. I assume that the law was in place because most bikes were such small displacement that they couldn't keep up on the inside lane. The signs all seemed to disappear around 2005 and it is generally a good thing since most any bike these days can make at least the speed limit and some far more.

Yes, I guess it makes sense in an age with older tech small CC bikes. I wish cars would pull the hell out of the way of my bike now, and it's only an 850cc :D
